"Joseph: God's Sovereignty & Reconciliation"
Pastor Akin began by asking what we should do when things don't go our way, using Joseph's story as an example. He explained that Joseph was his father's favorite son, receiving a coat of many colors that exempted him from manual labor, which caused his brothers to hate him. Joseph also had dreams indicating his family would bow before him, increasing their hatred and jealousy. The pastor emphasized that Joseph's brothers eventually sold him into slavery for pieces of silver, paralleling Jesus being sold for silver. Despite these terrible circumstances, Joseph remained faithful to God. Pastor Akin taught that the answer to life's difficulties is trusting in God's sovereignty - believing God has complete authority and control over all creation.
