The Godly Woman: A Biblical Picture of Womanhood

May 12, 2024    Pastor Tim Akin

Pastor Akin began by acknowledging that womanhood is an impactful subject that affects everyone daily, noting that biblical womanhood is being distorted by culture. He emphasized that Christians must look to Scripture rather than culture for understanding womanhood. Reading from Proverbs 31:10-31, he explained this passage presents the ideal woman that all should strive toward, though no one will meet this ideal perfectly. He outlined five characteristics: virtuous (having character and integrity), hardworking (diligent in all tasks), compassionate (generous and caring for those in need), and wise (appropriate in speech). The pastor noted that while much emphasis is placed on roles as wife and mother, these truths apply to all women regardless of marital status or age.

In this message:

Womanhood is an impactful subject that affects every person every single day of their life no matter who they are.Christians cannot look to the culture for understanding of womanhood but must run straight to the word of God.A godly woman is virtuous, meaning she is a person of character and integrity more valuable than jewels. This woman is hardworking at home and in business, working hard ultimately to serve others rather than herself.A godly woman is compassionate, treating her advantages as opportunities to bless others rather than self-indulgence.
