"Faith in the Wilderness"

Jul 9, 2023    Pastor Tim Akin

Pastor Akin defined the wilderness as a place of transition and testing where God's people must exercise faith over fear. He examined how Israel sent twelve spies to scout the promised land, but ten returned with a fearful report despite God's command to take the land. The pastor emphasized that obedience to God's commands is essential for demonstrating faith, especially during difficult seasons. He addressed how some wilderness experiences result from our own sin requiring repentance, while others come from circumstances beyond our control or testing from God. The message concluded with the importance of remembering God's past provision as a foundation for present faith.

In this message:

The wilderness is a place of transition and testing where people must exercise faith over fear.God always blesses obedience, though not always in the way we expect. Some wilderness experiences result from our own sin and require repentance to find the way out.Remembering God's past faithfulness helps us trust Him in present and future challenges.Christians today have the same access to God through His word, Spirit, and people as Moses did.
