God's Perfect Timing in Miracles
Nov 17, 2024 • Dr. Danny Wood
Dr. Wood examined the miracle of Israel crossing the Jordan River during flood stage, when it was at its most dangerous - a half mile wide with 40 mph currents instead of the normal 90-100 feet. He explained that God deliberately chose this timing to confirm Joshua's leadership, God's presence, and His power to defeat enemies. The sermon emphasized that this required a 'flood stage miracle' rather than a normal crossing to accomplish God's purposes. Wood concluded by comparing salvation to this flood stage miracle, where God does all the work but people must choose to 'walk across' by accepting Christ.
In this message:
God had 46 good weeks to choose for crossing but deliberately picked flood stage for maximum impact.Miracles happen when God will get the greater glory, not necessarily when it's most convenient. This was a 'New School Miracle' requiring faith to step into the waters, unlike Moses' Red Sea crossing.Salvation is like a flood stage miracle - God does everything, but we must decide to walk across.
